the fug factor

I'm really undecided about these Sling Back Mules from Topshop. On the one hand, they're clogs. Combined with wedges. My two least favorite types of shoes (although there are several exceptions to the latter) mixed together.
On the other hand, there's something about these uglies that seems oddly awesome. Maybe it's just the Topshop factor. Maybe its the bright colors/shine/peeptoes. I don't think I could ever make them work personally, but I'd definitely love to see someone else try. Thoughts?

they have a certain gag factor, i'm not going to lie. but paired with killer leggings, i think they could work. i like shoes that are ugly-pretty / pretty-ugly as well, nine west has these great ones but my friends have banned me from going to the store because they think the shoes fail.

i think they are fug, but they're the sort of shoe i could see you pairing with one of your crazy looks and making me think they're great!

They don't really do it for me, but you could probably pull it off.

Umm, these shoes are really bad. I personally don't think they could be salvaged by anyone.

I'm with Isabel.. i hate clogs and i hate peeptoes, so those are pretty much the ugliest effing shoes i've ever seen.

I like them, but I don't like them. I actually find the style quite boring, but in a way, after you look at it for a long time, they actually look OK. I'm not sure yet. The jury's still off duty.

topshop shoes are always a million times higher and clunky-er in real life, i bet these are huge!!

eehh im a little on the fence about these...on the one hand they're sort of hideous, but on the other hand with something interesting they could look great. as much as i love all of your runway collection stuff, and pictures of items you like etc, IM MISSING YOUR GREAT OUTFITS!! will you post some?

There is definitely a paradox going on. I also don't like clogs or wedges ordinarily, but I do kind of like the shiny middle pair. If they were on a pair of black tights I think they'd be a bit space age.

I love the way they look but I find slingbacks uncomfortable. If they were backless, I'd totally go for them.

wow.
It's like they thought of every shoe trend thats going at the moment and just chucked it in there.
Strappy - check!
Wedge heel - Check!
Peep toe - Check!
Shiny colours - Check!

Oh damn boys, we forgot to add the gradient effect.. ah well, we'll just put it on our next shoe - the gladiator-studded-thigh high-gradient colour supremo, with 6 inch heels of barbed wire!!!!

All that said, they do have a certain "so bad its good" factor which could cause me to eat my words..

yeah, I think the clog throws me off, but I am def interested to see how people will wear them.

Haha I would COMPLETELY wear those. But only if someone gave them to me for free...I think.
